Level IV_ Blog 7: Changes to my study programme

Thinking about the study program that has the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU), for me, who have not lived the university in a normal way, I prefer a thousand times the format I had at the beginning, where you could take theory and workshop separately, which in my opinion should always be so, because it is a format in which one does not feel so collapsed and has head and adequate time to deal with each subject and work of each branch, without falling under so much stress, or mental fatigue; Due to the pandemic, I have missed a lot, such as field trips, teaching methods in which one applies the knowledge manually, etc. And so far I think I have understood everything about the online subjects, I really like to study this way. However, you have to go back to the real world at some point, and you are already integrating the face-to-face classes (which is the normal curriculum), slowly, but it is done, and for me, along with all the students who have been in my situation, this integration of face-to-face classes, after 2 years, is really overwhelming, mostly due to the fact that in the normal curriculum, apart from being face-to-face, all the classes run at the same time, so it is not possible to dedicate the same amount of time to them as before; On the other hand, in the university, each course varies a lot depending on the professor you have, in the case of workshop, you have the option of having courses where you are taught more manual or digital, however, for my career it is essential to use a computer, because everything that is done manually, must be done with applications (this more than anything in workshop).

Speaking a little about the FAU, I can recognize the typical saying "the blacksmith's house with a wooden knife", since, being a faculty of architecture, it leaves much to be desired, I consider that its architecture is vain, and makes living complex, has few areas with shadows, etc.. Being an architectural complex, one really expects much more.
